Bugaboo Chameleon, iCandy Cherry, Quinny Buzz, Mutsy 4 Rider
Why did you choose the iCandy Apple over the others in your list?
Honest answer? Paul loved it. Don’t get me wrong, I loved it too, but he really loved it, and as I’d chosen pretty much everything else for our baby, I felt he deserved the chance to choose something too.
Would you recommend the iCandy Apple to your best friend?
No. I’d insist she had a play with mine before making up her own mind. It’s a great pram, but – depending on your lifestyle and how you’ll use it – won’t suit everybody.
Sum the iCandy Apple Pushchair up in one sentence:
We’ve had our problems, but it’s beautiful, built like a tank, and Boo absolutely loves being in it.

Hi Lucy
I’ve just found my paperwork from when we bought our iCandy Apple and the pricing was as follows (bearing in mind it was 18 months ago so may have changed):
Pushchair (sitting up) on its own £250
Pushchair + carrycot (lying down) combination £350
The matching footmuff was £49.99 and the changing bag £29.99
The maxi cosi carseat was £89.99 (we bought this separately from Boots as it was on offer at the time).
We bought ours from Olivers Baby Care, who I’d happily recommend, but you do have to phone around to get prices for the iCandy Apple as stockists aren’t allowed to put their prices online.
Hope that helps!

Hi Gina
Thanks for your comment – you may find this page more helpful if you haven’t already read it http://www.bestpram.co.uk/index.php/icandy-apple-review
The icandy IS easy to fold, but there’s a definite knack to it. You have to hold in a button on the handle and then you push the handle towards the front wheels rather than to the floor. It’s incredibly easy – you’ll probably just need a couple of practice goes first!
Considering it’s such a big pram, it’s quite compact when folded, BUT in carrycot mode, you need to remove this first (and also stow that in the boot of your car too), so not as compact as you might need. It’s a lot better in pushchair mode as it can be collapsed together, but do bear this point in mind if you have limited boot space.
Hope that helps a little, but have a read of the full review if you want to know a bit more – wishing you lots of luck with your search for the perfect pram

Hi, I need to buy a pram / travel system for a new born that will fit in a VW Beetle (new model) boot. I think this Apple icandy should fit, can you confirm.
I measured the boot at Wx99cm Dx68cm Hx44cm.
Many Thanks

Hi Laura
Thanks for your message – the problem you may have is that whilst the chassis (frame) folds compactly, the carrycot has to be removed first, so you need to have space to stow them both (if that makes sense?). In pushchair mode, when forward-facing, you can collapse the chassis and the seat unit together, but obviously this only applies when baby is bigger and no longer using the carrycot.
We’ve got a Vauxhall Astra and could fit both the folded chassis and carrycot into the boot, but if I had a lot of shopping to carry I would put the carrycot on the backseat, and the shopping with the chassis in the boot.
Another way I got around the problem was by using the chassis with the maxi-cosi car seat for short shopping trips (you get the maxi cosi car seat adaptors with the travel system package, or you can buy them separately for around £30) – the car seat would then clip on and off the chassis, and I only had to store the chassis in the boot. This also had the advantage of not having to keep waking up my baby when I was literally nipping in and out of shops.
That all said, I’m using an older (2007) model chassis and I *think* it’s slightly smaller now. If you possibly can, it would be worth finding a local supplier and having a look in person so you can see the folded size for yourself.
Sorry I can’t be more helpful, but as it comes down to the compromises you might be willing to make, and the way in which you’ll most use your pram, you’d definitely be best having a look at it ‘in the flesh’ so to speak, as I’d hate to give you bad advice. Good luck with your search
